This table lists every app we track that publishes a price, cheapest first. "Cheapest plan" is the lowest monthly equivalent the app advertises, usually on a yearly or multi-month plan. "Month to month" is what you pay if you do not commit. We check each price on the app's own pricing page every month; these are the September 2026 figures in US dollars.

3 apps (DarLink AI, Joi and Anima) do not show a price until you sign up or open the app, so they are not in the table. The median across the apps that publish a price is $7.75 a month on the cheapest plan and $14.99 month to month.

Subscriptions vs tokens: what you actually pay for

Most AI girlfriend apps charge in two layers.

The subscription

The plan unlocks the basics: more or unlimited messages, better memory and access to paid features. It renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.

The in-app currency

Pictures, video clips, voice messages and calls cost the app far more to generate than text, so most apps meter them with a currency. 21 of the 31 apps we track use one, under names like Moments, Tokens, Credits, Dream Coins, Coins, PeepCoins and Gems. Plans usually include a monthly allowance, and you buy top-up packs when it runs out.

Secrets AI is a clear example: it bills media generation in its own currency, called Moments, on top of the subscription, so you budget for both. Nomi AI and CrushOn AI list no separate currency in our data.

Yearly vs monthly: how much the discount is worth

The headline price is usually a yearly plan paid in one go. Among the 26 apps that publish both a discounted plan and a higher month-to-month price, month to month costs a median of 2.2 times as much per month. Here is what 12 months costs each way:

The table uses each app's advertised prices. Where our data records a higher renewal price after a promotional first term (listed under hidden costs below), the real cost from the second term on is higher.

Take Candy AI. Its cheapest plan is $3.99 a month, or $47.88 for 12 months. Paying month to month at $13.99 would cost $167.88 over a year. The yearly plan pays off if you would keep the app for more than about 3.4 months; our Candy AI review covers what the plan includes.

At the median across these apps, a year on the cheapest plan costs the same as about 6 months of month-to-month billing. So a simple rule works: pay month to month for your first month or two, and switch to yearly only once you are sure you will use the app for at least 6 months. Yearly plans also renew for another full year unless you cancel.

Hidden costs to budget for

• Prices you cannot see. 3 apps (DarLink AI, Joi and Anima) do not show a price until you sign up or open the app. For apps like that, you have to hand over an email address just to learn what they charge.
• Token top-ups. Allowances run out fast if you ask for many pictures or any video. Check the cost per picture or per minute of calling on the app's own pricing page before you count on it.
• Free plan limits. Free plans are for testing, not for daily use. Candy AI's free plan, for example, is listed as "5 messages, 1 custom character, 1 image", and Secrets AI's as "20 messages a day, no images or calls".
• Price rises at renewal. Every plan renews unless you cancel, and some terms allow price increases. Candy AI's terms of service say prices may rise from time to time, with notice before an automatic renewal at the new price.
• App store vs web prices. Apple's App Review Guidelines require apps to use in-app purchase for subscriptions and in-app currencies sold inside iOS apps, so an app's App Store price can differ from its website price. Compare both.
• Promotional first terms and trials. Some first payments are discounted and renew at a higher price. Our data records these renewal terms:
  • Kindroid: The 3-day free trial rolls into the selected paid plan unless cancelled
  • My Lovely AI: The $2.99 two-day trial renews at $19.99 a month
  • DreamGF: Monthly renews at $25.99 after a $12.99 first month; yearly renews at $311.88 after a $69.99 first year
  • GoLove AI: Paid Pro trials ($3.99 or $4.99) renew at $19.99 a month
  • DreamBF.ai: Monthly renews at $25.99 after a $12.99 first month; yearly renews at $311.88 after a $69.99 first year
• Currency and tax. Prices here are in US dollars. Outside the US you may see local prices, added taxes or card conversion fees.

What you get at each price point

• Free: 30 of the 31 apps let you start without paying, usually with capped messages or locked media.
• Under $5 a month: Selira AI ($3.60), Candy AI ($3.99) and Replika ($4.17).
• $5 to $7 a month: TryNectar AI ($5), FantasyGF ($5.83), DreamGF ($5.83), Muah AI ($5.83), DreamBF.ai ($5.83), My Dream Companion ($5.84), Dondi.ai ($5.99), CrushOn AI ($5.99), My Lovely AI ($6) and Infatuated AI ($6.99).
• $7 to $10 a month: Roger ($7.50), Lovescape ($7.99), LusyChat ($7.99), Spicier ($7.99), Swipey AI ($7.99), Nomi AI ($8.33), HeyGF ($8.33), AI Peeps ($8.99), Secrets AI ($9.17), OurDream ($9.99) and GoLove AI ($9.99).
• $10 a month or more: Kindroid ($11.67), GirlfriendGPT ($12), SweetDream AI ($14.92) and Kupid AI ($14.92).

How to spend less on an AI girlfriend

1. Start free. 30 of the 31 apps have a free plan. Use it to find a character and an app you like; our list of free AI girlfriend apps compares the limits.
2. Pay monthly first, yearly later. The first month costs more, but you avoid paying for a year you will not use.
3. Pay for the feature you use. If you only text, a base plan with generous messaging is all you need. Only move up to tiers with big token allowances if you generate a lot of pictures.
4. Compare token packs before buying. Check the price per token of each pack against the plan's monthly allowance. Waiting for the allowance to refresh is often cheaper than topping up.
5. Use one app at a time. Two subscriptions at the median month-to-month price of $14.99 each add up quickly.
