Which AI girlfriend apps are on the App Store and Google Play

We checked each app's own website on September 29, 2026 for App Store and Google Play links, install prompts and statements about downloads. This is how each one gets onto your phone.

"Web app" means you use it in Safari or Chrome. Most of these can be added to your home screen, where they open full-screen like a downloaded app.

Why most 18+ AI girlfriend apps are web-only

The app stores do not allow the content these apps are built around. Apple's App Store Review Guidelines ban "overtly sexual or pornographic material" (guideline 1.1.4), and say apps with user-generated content that end up used primarily for pornographic content do not belong on the App Store (guideline 1.2) (Apple App Review Guidelines). Google Play bans "apps that contain or promote sexual content or profanity, including pornography, or any content or services intended to be sexually gratifying" (Google Play policy).

So an app that allows NSFW roleplay and explicit pictures has two choices: filter itself to get into the stores, or stay on the web. The top-ranked apps chose the web. Nomi AI, which targets long-term relationships over explicit content, has an App Store app, and Replika, which does not allow explicit content, is on both stores.

Staying on the web also changes how you pay. Web apps bill your card through their own checkout, not through Apple or Google, so the subscription will not appear in your phone's subscription settings. How to add an AI girlfriend web app to your home screen

A home-screen web app takes about a minute to set up and needs no store account.

iPhone (Safari)

1. Open the app's website in Safari and sign in.
2. Tap the Share button.
3. Tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.

Android (Chrome)

1. Open the website in Chrome and sign in.
2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top right.
3. Tap Add to Home screen or Install app, then confirm.

On iPhone, Safari is the simplest browser for this step; if another browser does not show Add to Home Screen, switch to Safari and try again. Store app or web app: what changes for you

On the phone itself the two feel almost the same: an icon, a full-screen window and notifications if you allow them. The differences are in what is allowed, how you pay and how you leave.

Neither kind works offline, because her replies are written on the company's servers. For most people the deciding row is the first one. If you want 18+ chat, you will be using a web app whatever phone you own. Watch out for copycat AI girlfriend apps in the stores

Search "AI girlfriend" in the App Store or Google Play and you get many small apps with similar names and stock images. Some are fine SFW chat apps; others are thin wrappers built to sell subscriptions. Of the ten apps ranked above, only Nomi AI has a confirmed store app, so a store listing that uses one of the other names deserves a second look.

Before you install or pay:

• Check that the developer name matches the company on the official website. Candy AI, for example, is run by EverAI Limited.
• Read the in-app purchase list on the store listing, which shows real prices and billing periods.
• Look at the age rating. An app rated for teens will not allow 18+ chat, whatever its screenshots suggest.
• Search recent reviews for "paywall" and "subscription" to see what happens after the first few messages.

If the official site offers Add to Home Screen instead of a store link, use that. It is the real app, it updates itself and it bills you directly.

Keeping an AI girlfriend app private on your phone

A phone is the device most likely to be picked up by someone else, so a few settings matter more here than on a computer.

• Hide message previews. If you allow notifications, set them to hide previews on the lock screen, so a reply never appears over your wallpaper.
• Watch where pictures go. Pictures you save from a web app land in your photo library, which may sync to iCloud or Google Photos and appear on your other devices. Leave them in the app if you do not want that.
• Lock the phone, not just the app. Home-screen web apps stay signed in, so anyone who can open your phone can open her too. Use a passcode, and sign out on shared devices.
• Pick a neutral icon name. On iPhone and Android you can rename the shortcut when you add it to your home screen.
• Compare apps in a private tab. Private browsing keeps the sites out of your history while you try a few; you simply sign in again later.
