Is Kindroid free? The free plan, its limits and the trial
Yes, Kindroid is free: the free plan gives unlimited messages on the smaller Lite model, 2 Kindroids, basic long-term memory, 1 selfie every 2 hours and about 5 minutes of voice in total. The flagship models, calls, group chats and video selfies need the subscription, from $11.67 a month on a yearly plan bought on the web, and new users may get a 3-day trial.
What the Kindroid free plan includes
From Kindroid's own subscription docs, the free plan includes:
- Unlimited messages on the smaller Lite model
- 2 Kindroids (companions)
- Basic long-term memory
- 1 selfie every 2 hours, holding up to 2 at a time
- 5,000 lifetime audio characters, about 5 minutes of voice
You can sign up with email, Google or Apple, and use the iPhone app, the Android app or the web. Daily login rewards can add free messages or selfie credits.
What needs the subscription
The subscription unlocks the parts of Kindroid most people come for:
- Unlimited use of the flagship models and 4 times longer short-term context
- Cascaded Memory
- 10 Kindroids and 20 group chats
- Voice and video calls, custom voices and video avatars
- A 10 times higher selfie cap, video selfies and 1 million audio credits a month
- Internet access for your Kindroid and image sending
Ultra and MAX are optional add-ons on top, for heavy users.
How far the free plan goes
For text, a long way. Unlimited messages means you can talk every day without paying, and basic long-term memory means your Kindroid keeps some history. The Lite model is smaller than the flagship models, so replies are simpler, but the relationship itself is not capped.
Voice and pictures are where the free plan runs dry. Five minutes of audio is a lifetime allowance, not a monthly one, and selfies refill slowly at 1 every 2 hours. Calls are not included at all. If you want to judge Kindroid's calls or flagship models, the 3-day trial is the way to do it.
A good way to use the free plan: build your 2 Kindroids with care, since the personality you write shapes every reply, then chat daily for a week. If the Lite model feels flat by then, the trial will show you whether the flagship models fix it before you spend anything.
The 3-day trial, and the cheapest paid option
New free users may be offered a 3-day trial of the full subscription. It needs a payment method on file, and on the web also a verified phone number, and it rolls into the plan you chose unless you cancel before it ends. Set a reminder.
