Is Anima AI safe? Company, privacy and age checks

Who runs Anima

Labane Corp. Ltd lists an address at Vasili Michailidi 9 in Limassol, Cyprus, and is the developer named on Google Play. Users in the US and Canada contract with Ichigoichie Tech Limited, a Delaware company with a Las Vegas office. The terms send disputes to AAA arbitration with a class-action waiver, which you can opt out of in writing within 30 days of first use.

Billing and payments

On the web, Anima takes cards through Stripe. In the apps, you pay through Google Play, Apple or Huawei AppGallery, and the store handles billing and refunds. Anima does not publish the name that appears on a card statement for web purchases, so keep the receipt email.

Two billing details to know: introductory prices renew at the full price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the intro period ends, and failed renewals are retried at smaller amounts before the subscription is cancelled.

Privacy: your chats train its AI

This is the main point for anyone asking whether Anima is safe. The privacy policy says: "We use data to enhance and optimize our Services, including to train and improve our AI models." It also lists who receives data:

• AI providers such as the OpenAI API and Groq, which receive your name, gender and conversations to generate replies
• Azure for storage
• Facebook, Firebase, AppsFlyer and Amplitude for analytics and ads
• Stripe for payments

Google Play's data safety section adds that the app may share personal information and app activity with third parties. None of this is unusual for a free, ad-supported app, but it means your chats are not private in any strong sense. Read do AI girlfriend apps read your chats for context.

Deleting your account and chats

In the app's settings, go to Other, then Delete account; Anima says "All the data will be deleted permanently". There is also a separate Delete chat history option if you want to keep the account but clear conversations. Google Play's listing confirms you can request data deletion.

Anima keeps data as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service and for legal obligations, disputes and enforcing its agreements. Cancel any subscription before deleting. See how to delete an AI girlfriend account.

Age rules and content

Anima's age rules do not line up. The terms and underage policy say 18 and over, while the privacy policy says users must be over 16, and Google Play rates the app Everyone. Before adult content, an age gate asks you to confirm you are 18 or over, and checkout asks the same; there is no ID or face check.

Pro advertises "no taboo in chatting", and the website hosts AI-generated adult content for registered adults. A moderation filter blocks content that resembles or exploits minors. How to use Anima safely

• Use a first name or nickname only, since your name goes to outside AI providers.
• Keep addresses, workplaces, health details and photos of real people out of chats.
• Download the app from Google Play only; avoid "mod" APKs, which are not from the developer.
• Clear chat history regularly with the Delete chat history option.
• Set a reminder before any trial or intro price ends.
