CrushOn AI review: a huge character library, but is it worth paying for?
Our CrushOn AI review in one line: it is worth trying for its enormous library of community characters and choice of chat models, but paying makes sense only for roleplay fans who do not need a long memory. It scores 7.1 out of 10 (#23 of 31 apps), the free plan gives 100 credits a month plus unlimited free models, and 18+ chat needs a plan from $5.99 a month.
CrushOn is one of the biggest sites in this category, with about 41 million visits in August 2026 according to Semrush. Its draw is the library: a very large collection of characters made by users, across styles from anime and fantasy to game characters, plus a builder, personas, scenarios and group chats. It also offers an unusual choice of chat models, from its own free models to Claude, Gemini, GPT, DeepSeek and Grok variants billed in message credits.
The weak points are memory, privacy and money. Memory runs from 8K on the free plan to 24K on the top plans, and our data rates it as conversational, so long stories lose early detail. The privacy policy says CrushOn may use chat content to train AI models. And refunds are not offered for the current period, with a warning that non-fraud chargebacks can get accounts and cards blocked.
Free users can chat without limit on slower models, but NSFW characters need a subscription. Standard at $5.99 a month is the sensible entry point. If memory or a free 18+ plan matters more than library size, our CrushOn AI alternatives fit better.

CrushOn sells five current plans. Standard, at $5.99 a month, adds 2,000 message credits, Ultra models, 16K memory and NSFW characters. Premium, Luxe, Elite and Imperial add more credits (up to 125,000 a month), more stored messages per character and bigger credit bonuses, and yearly billing lowers the per-month price on all of them.

Is CrushOn AI free? The free plan
Yes. Free accounts get unlimited chat on speed-limited free models, 100 message credits a month for the Pro models, 8K memory, 200 stored messages per character and 20 inspiration replies a day. Coins from daily check-ins and invites add bonus messages.

Characters, roleplay and the library
The library is CrushOn's reason to exist. Characters span female, male and non-binary, anime, game, fantasy, sci-fi, historical and more, almost all made by users, so quality varies a lot from one to the next. Tags cover monster girls, vampires, elves, robots, VTubers, royalty, RPG characters and personalities such as yandere and tsundere, so browsing is half the appeal. You can build your own, set a persona, write scenarios and put several characters in a group chat, where each character's message counts as 2 credits.
Creators can publish characters and earn money withdrawn to PayPal. The community guidelines allow unfiltered adult roleplay for adults but ban characters who are or look under 18, realistic images of real people and explicit character pictures. Memory, models, pictures and voice
Memory is CrushOn's weakest area in our scores. It is 8K on the free plan, 16K on Standard and Premium, and 24K on Elite and Imperial, and each character stores between 200 and 1,500 messages depending on plan. That is enough for a scene, not for a relationship that runs for months. If you stay, put the facts that matter into the character's description or your persona, where the model sees them on every reply, rather than trusting it to recall an early message.
Model choice is its strength: alongside free in-house models, it offers Claude, Gemini, GPT, DeepSeek, GLM, Kimi and Grok variants, some priced at a multiple of the normal credit rate. Is CrushOn AI safe? Company and privacy
CrushOn is run by TECHIEPIE LTD, with an office in Nicosia, Cyprus, and an address in Dover, Delaware. Its privacy policy says it may use content from character chats to train AI models, in a general way not linked to you, and it shares data with advertising platforms for remarketing. It does not store card numbers.

How to cancel CrushOn AI, and refunds
Go to Profile, My Subscription, Manage, then Cancel Subscription before your billing date; access lasts to the end of the cycle. PayPal plans cancel from the same screen, and SubscribeStar or Paymentwall plans on those sites. The current period is not refunded, and there are no partial refunds.

Who CrushOn AI suits, and who should skip it
Pick CrushOn if you love browsing community characters, like trying different chat models, and mostly play scenes rather than long relationships. The free plan is good for SFW roleplay, and Standard is a fair price for 18+ access.
