Is DarLink AI free? What the free tier covers

What the DarLink AI free plan includes

You can sign up with an email address or a Google or Discord account. The free allowance above comes from DarLink's own site code, read in an earlier check. When we re-checked on 29 September 2026, darlink.ai answered plain page requests with a bot challenge, so its help and pricing pages could not be read again. The pages we could read do not say whether a card is needed for the free tier.

Only the image allowance is described as daily. The site does not say whether the 5 free messages reset, so treat them as a one-off allowance until you see otherwise in your account.

What a subscription adds

DarLink's own site text sums up the subscription in one line: "With subscription you get access to: Unlimited text messages, Remove image blur". That suggests free messages are capped and free pictures come blurred. The free allowance note adds that 18+ content and video are for subscribers only.

Tokens sit on top of the subscription. The site says they are spent to "Generate images and videos" and "Access premium features", but how many tokens each action costs could not be read. DarLink sends voice messages; it does not advertise live voice calls. Our DarLink AI review covers the character library and what DarLink calls living memory.

How far 5 free messages go

Five messages is a greeting and a few replies. Decide before you start what you want to learn, because you will not have room to explore:

• Pick one ready-made character close to what you want, rather than building one, to save the free character slot.
• Use your messages to test tone and reply length, not small talk.
• Ask for a picture on day one and again on day two, to see the daily image allowance and how heavy the blur is.
• Try one of the 5 audio messages to hear the voice quality.

DarLink also lets you continue chats in Discord messages. Whether those count against the same free allowance is not published.

What paying costs

DarLink shows the subscription price only after you sign up, which is why our price column reads "Price shown after sign-up". Our DarLink AI pricing page lists what is and is not published, and how to read the checkout screen before you pay.

Refund terms are not published on any page we could read. If you decide to pay, find the cancel option in your account on the first day; our how to cancel DarLink AI page explains what to do if there is none, and is DarLink AI safe? covers the company and what its policies leave out.

Free alternatives with bigger free plans

If 5 messages is too little to judge an app, these free plans go much further and publish their limits:

• Selira AI: Unlimited chat, 2 companions, 3 days of history, and paid plans from $3.60 a month.
• TryNectar AI: 15 messages and 10 images a day, so you get more free pictures than on DarLink as well as more chat.
• Secrets AI: 20 messages a day, no images or calls.

Our comparisons Candy AI vs DarLink AI and DarLink AI vs HeyGF set DarLink's free plan against two apps that publish their prices. For every app, see the best free AI girlfriend apps, and for paid apps that publish their prices, DarLink AI alternatives.
