What DarLink AI is, and why this review says less

DarLink AI is a web-based AI girlfriend generator. You build a companion or pick one from its library, chat with her, and ask for photos, short videos or voice messages. Our data lists custom characters, personas, scenarios, long-term memory and 18+ chat, with no group chats and no live voice calls.

This review is more cautious than our others for one reason. darlink.ai serves a bot challenge to plain page requests, so its pricing, terms and help pages could not be read directly when we re-checked on 29 September 2026. The free limits and the operator name on this page come from a file the site publishes for AI tools (its llms.txt) and from its app code; the price list is in neither. Where this page cites figures DarLink has not confirmed, it names who reported them. Where nobody has, it says so and stops.

DarLink AI pricing: what is published and what is not

DarLink shows its subscription price inside the app after you sign up. That is why our price column reads "Price shown after sign-up" instead of a number, and why DarLink never appears in the cheapest-price lists on this site.

One independent source, StartupHub.ai's DarLink AI review, says it read DarLink's pricing page in August 2026. It describes three paid tiers, starting with Essential and Advanced, and reports:

• monthly token allowances of 100, 300 or 500, depending on the tier;
• 2 tokens per image and 20 tokens per video;
• monthly message caps on the two lower tiers;
• memory that steps up from basic to enhanced to "living memory" on the top tier.

We have not been able to confirm those figures on DarLink's own site, so treat them as a guide. The practical point: the cheapest tier may not include the memory DarLink is known for. Check which tier has living memory before you pay, and compare the total with apps that publish prices, such as Candy AI from $3.99 a month or My Lovely AI from $6 a month on yearly plans.

Is DarLink AI free?

Yes. DarLink AI is free to start: you can create an account, build or pick a character and chat before paying anything. Its own files list the free allowance as 5 messages, 3 images a day, one character and 5 audio messages. 18+ content and video are kept for subscribers, so the free tier shows you the chat and the pictures, not the adult side.

Three things are worth checking in your first session:

1. Whether the 5 free messages reset each day, since the daily limit is only stated for images.
2. Whether the 3 free daily photos come blurred, watermarked or clean.
3. Whether the character still remembers details from your first chat when you come back the next day.

Photos, video and voice

Our data lists DarLink AI as able to generate photos and short videos of your character and to send voice messages. Free users get 3 images a day and 5 audio messages, while video needs a subscription. It does not advertise live voice calls, so you can hear recorded messages but cannot hold a real-time conversation.

If the StartupHub.ai figures are current, a video costs ten times as much as an image in tokens, so a small monthly allowance goes much further on pictures than on clips. Keep that in mind if video is the reason you are signing up, and compare DarLink with the apps on our AI girlfriend video page, most of which publish what a clip costs.

Characters, memory and roleplay

DarLink leans on variety. The same StartupHub.ai review counted more than 334,000 realistic, 44,000 anime and 7,000 furry companions in DarLink's library. DarLink has not confirmed those numbers, but a large library is clearly its selling point. The builder lets you set her look and personality before the first message.

Our data also lists personas (a profile describing you that the character reads) and scenarios (a starting set-up for the roleplay, such as a first date or a story setting). Memory is listed as long-term, and DarLink describes its paid-tier memory as "living memory". Who runs DarLink AI, privacy and canceling

DarLink AI's own files name FAMELINK SA, based in Montsevelier in the canton of Jura, Switzerland. That matches StartupHub.ai's report that DarLink launched in November 2023 and is run from Switzerland. Refund terms are not published anywhere we could read, so check the company name on the checkout page and on your card statement, and ask support about refunds before you pay.

The same review reports a cancel button on desktop under Settings, then Account Information, in small text near the bottom, and says some users had to email support to cancel. If you subscribe, find that option on day one, cancel a few days before renewal, and keep the confirmation email. Who DarLink AI is for

DarLink fits you if you want a very large choice of characters, like scenario roleplay, and are willing to test the free tier before deciding. It fits less well if you want to compare prices before signing up, need live calls, or want refund terms in writing before you pay. Each alternative below publishes its prices before you sign up, and all three have a bigger free allowance or live calls.
