Is Kupid AI free? What the free tier and trial include

What the free Kupid AI tier includes

We read Kupid's subscriptions page, plan data and FAQ on 29 September 2026. The free tier gives you:

• 15 messages. The plan table does not say whether that is per day or in total.
• 1 custom character that you design, plus the ready-made characters.
• Memory of the last 30 messages.
• No card and no expiry. The FAQ says the free tier does not run out.

Photos, videos, voice messages and voice input are all missing on free. Kupid also lets you start a chat before you create an account, and it rejects disposable email addresses and "+" aliases when you sign up. Our Kupid AI review covers the paid plans and characters in detail.

What you have to pay for

Kupid publishes exact weekly allowances, which makes the jump from free easy to see:

• Pro: unlimited messages, 25 photos and 8 videos a week, 12 minutes of voice messages a week, voice input, memory of the last 100 messages, 4 custom characters and 100 coins.
• Ultra: 75 photos, 25 videos and 35 minutes of voice a week, unlimited memory, 8 custom characters and 300 coins.

There is no live voice call feature in our data for Kupid, and nothing on its public pages describes one. The full price list, including the one-time Lifetime plan, is on our Kupid AI pricing page.

How far 15 free messages go

Not far. Fifteen messages is enough to see how a character writes and whether the personality fits, but not enough for a real conversation. Memory on the free tier covers the last 30 messages, so the limit you hit first is the message cap, not memory.

Use the free messages on the one character you care about most. Spend a few on the character builder to see how it handles your description, then decide. If you want free chat that lasts, other apps are far more generous; see the comparison below and our guide to free vs paid AI girlfriend apps.

The free messages are also the best way to test language support. Kupid is offered in 14 languages, including Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Turkish, Vietnamese and Chinese, which is more than most apps we track. If you plan to chat in a language other than English, spend two or three messages checking the replies before you pay for a week.

The free trial and the cheapest paid option

Kupid's site text describes a free trial: it places a $0.50 card verification charge, refunds it, and then starts the subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends. Treat it as a subscription with a delayed first charge, not as free access. These are all the plans:

The cheapest way to try Pro is one week. The cheapest per month is Pro on yearly billing, $14.92 a month, charged as $179 in one payment. Kupid's terms say all sales are final, so a year is a big commitment on an app you have tested for 15 messages. Read how to cancel Kupid AI before you start a trial.
