What a trans AI girlfriend is, and how apps list her
A trans AI girlfriend is a companion character who is a trans woman. Eleven of the 18 apps we checked show trans characters, making it one of the better-covered styles. The label most apps use is simply Trans, which is also the respectful term; a few sites use outdated words in page addresses, which we do not repeat.
Apps list her in three ways: a filter (Candy AI, Infatuated AI, Joi, and GoLove AI's gender filter), a dedicated page (Secrets AI, OurDream, Selira AI, My Lovely AI, Lovescape) or a ready-made roleplay character (DreamGF). Outside this ranking, My Dream Companion names trans and non-binary among its character types, and SweetDream AI says trans characters are coming soon.

Writing her with respect
Being trans is part of who she is, not her whole story. Characters written only around their identity tend to feel like props. Write her the way you would anyone you care about:
- Pronouns in the description. "She/her" stated once keeps the model consistent.
- A full life. A job, friends, a hobby she is obsessed with, a city she loves.
- Her history is her business. Decide how much her transition features; many good characters barely mention it.

Setting your own identity with personas
Many people looking for a trans AI girlfriend are trans or queer themselves and want the app to get them right too. Personas help: they let you describe yourself, including your name and pronouns, once, and the character reads it in every chat.
