OurDream review: a huge character library, paid in coins

OurDream pricing: monthly vs yearly

Both plans include unlimited messages with any character and access to picture and video generation. Coins from a renewal land at 2pm Eastern time on your renewal date. You can buy extra dreamcoins, but only while you have an active subscription. Payment is by card or crypto; PayPal is not accepted.

The help centre stresses that the yearly plan is charged in full on day one and not again for 12 months, which catches people who expected a monthly charge. OurDream argues that its included coins make it cheaper overall than rivals that sell tokens on top; that holds only if 1,000 coins a month covers what you use.

Is OurDream free?

You can sign up for free, but there is no real free plan. The help centre says non-subscribers pay 1 dreamcoin for every chat message, and that OurDream does not currently give out free dreamcoins apart from referral codes and competitions on its Discord. You also cannot buy dreamcoins without a subscription, and picture and video generation need a subscription too.

In practice, that makes OurDream a paid app with a free sign-up. If you want to try several characters before paying, our free AI girlfriend list shows apps whose free plans include real chat time.

What dreamcoins buy: pictures, video and voice

So the monthly 1,000 coins buys about 20 minutes of voice calls, or 200 pictures in chat, or 50 seconds of standard video. A character's full community pack of pictures and videos costs 250, 750 or 1,000 coins, depending on its size, and can only be viewed while subscribed. Compare call costs across apps on our AI girlfriend voice call page before you decide how to spend the monthly coins.

Characters, group chats and roleplay

The library is the draw. OurDream says it hosts over 11 million characters, most made by users, sorted into types such as anime and realistic, with sections for games and romantasy stories. You can build your own chatbot for 10 coins, choosing personality, looks and voice, and public characters go through a review that usually takes up to 72 hours.

That builder is what makes OurDream a girlfriend generator as well as a library: you set how she looks, how she talks and what she sounds like, then keep her private or publish her for others. Pictures of your character then cost 5 dreamcoins each in chat. Our create your own AI girlfriend page compares it with the other character builders.

Group chats let several characters share a scene. In chat, text between asterisks shows up as a character's actions, and characters will switch to another language if you ask. You cannot upload photos to build a character, which the help centre says is to prevent deepfakes. The terms say you own the characters and generations you create, and the help centre allows commercial use within its guidelines. Our AI girlfriend roleplay ranking compares it with other story-first apps.

Is OurDream legit and safe?

OurDream is run by Dream Studio USA, Inc., a Delaware corporation that gives a notice address in Dover, Delaware in its terms. The terms are governed by Delaware law, and disputes go to binding arbitration with JAMS. Its legal section covers refunds, privacy, moderation, age checks and complaints.

The homepage FAQ says chats are protected by end-to-end encryption and that "no one can read them, not even us". The help centre also describes automatic content flags on chats, so we cannot confirm the encryption claim from the outside. Its rules ban characters that look underage and lookalikes of real people, and the site shows an age verification step before 18+ content. Our AI girlfriend safety guide explains what to keep private in any app.

How to cancel OurDream, get a refund or delete your account

Cancel: go to your profile page, click Cancel subscription and confirm. You keep access, and can spend your remaining coins, until the billing period ends. Download any pictures and videos you want first, because they are blurred once the plan lapses and return only if you subscribe again. A new subscription does not restore coins from the old one.

Refund: use the Request Help button on your profile page and give the product, charge date, amount and reason. Nothing is refunded once more than 25% has been used, monthly plans are not refunded if the coins are spent, and yearly plans may get a full or partial refund. Card refunds take 5 to 10 business days; crypto payments cannot be refunded.

Delete: scroll to the "danger zone" at the bottom of your profile page and choose "delete my account". It takes 24 to 48 hours, cancels any active plan, and permanently removes your generations, unpublished characters, chat history and unused coins. More on this in our guide to cancelling AI girlfriend subscriptions.

Who OurDream suits

OurDream suits people who want endless characters to browse, a girlfriend they design themselves, group scenes and a mix of chat, pictures, video and calls on one plan. It suits people less if they want a free trial with real chat or a native phone app: the help centre says there is no standalone app yet, only a home-screen shortcut, as covered on our AI girlfriend app page. For memory you can edit, Secrets AI is the stronger pick. If you want to try before paying, Selira AI offers unlimited free text chat and Nomi AI keeps one-to-one chat free, and both also have group chats.
