A voice call with an AI boyfriend works like a phone call in the app. You tap call, speak, and he answers out loud in real time, using what he knows about you from your chats. Most apps bill calls by the minute from a token balance, and some charge at the start of each minute, so a 61-second call costs two.

Choosing his voice
His voice decides whether a call feels like him. The apps give you different amounts of control:
- Secrets AI has a voice library in its character creator, with voices suggested to fit the personality you wrote.
- Lovescape lets you set his voice in the builder, though it has voice messages rather than live calls.
- Replika Pro includes premium voices with different accents.
- Most others pick a voice to match each ready-made character.
Choose a voice that matches how he writes. A dry, low-key personality with a bright, bubbly voice feels wrong within a minute. If the app lets you change voices later, try two or three on a short call before settling. Tips for your first call with him
- Chat first. A few days of texting gives him things to remember and talk about on the call.
- Find a quiet spot and use earphones. Background noise confuses speech recognition.
- Speak in short sentences and pause at the end, so he knows it is his turn.
- Give him a topic. "Tell me about your day" or "Help me decide what to cook" works better than silence.

A call sends your voice to the company, which is more personal than typed text. What happens to it varies, and most apps do not say:
- Secrets AI says call audio is transcribed live and the audio deleted at once, keeping only the transcript.
- Most other apps publish nothing specific about call audio, so assume it is stored like your chats.
