Which AI girlfriend apps take PayPal
There are two ways to use PayPal: at the app's own checkout, or through the App Store or Google Play when the app bills through them. This table shows which applies to each app.

Nomi AI is the highest-scoring app you can pay for with PayPal, and Kindroid is the highest-scoring app that takes PayPal on its own site. Both are companion apps first. The 18+ apps at the top of our overall AI girlfriend ranking do not take PayPal at all.
Why most 18+ AI girlfriend apps skip PayPal
PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy says you may not use PayPal for transactions involving "certain sexually oriented materials or services". Apps built around 18+ chat, pictures and video fall on the wrong side of that line, so they use card processors that work with adult services instead.
You can see it in their payment lists. DreamGF and DreamBF process cards through Rocketgate or Segpay, AI Peeps through CCBill, and Lovescape lists billing support for Paymentico, Epoch, SegPay, CentroBill and Webbilling. None of them lists PayPal.
Some apps state it outright. Our research found no PayPal option on OurDream, My Dream Companion or GirlfriendGPT, and Secrets AI's payments wiki lists cards, crypto, Apple Pay, Google Pay and G2A keys with no mention of PayPal. TryNectar AI's plan data contains PayPal plan IDs, but its checkout shows card and crypto as the options.

Paying with PayPal through the App Store or Google Play
If an app is sold in the App Store or Google Play, PayPal can pay for it even when the app itself never mentions PayPal:
- Add PayPal to your store account. Apple lists PayPal as an Apple Account payment method in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and several EU countries. Google Play accepts PayPal for apps and digital content.
- Subscribe inside the app. The store charges your PayPal, and the app never sees your payment details.
- Manage it in the store. Cancelling and refunds for store purchases go through Apple or Google, not the app. Nomi AI and Replika both say store subscriptions must be cancelled where they were bought.
Store prices can be higher than web prices. Kindroid charges $13.99 a month in the stores against $13.99 on its website, and Nomi's wiki says web billing can work out slightly cheaper.

PayPal and privacy
PayPal keeps your card number away from the app, which is a real benefit with smaller companies. It does not hide the purchase from you or from PayPal:
- The merchant is recorded in your PayPal activity. Anyone with access to your PayPal account can see where you paid.
- App store purchases show the store, not the app, on your bank statement. Apple says apple.com/bill appears when you buy an app or a subscription renews. Google Play charges start with GOOGLE* followed by the developer or company name.
- Your chats are not affected. How you pay changes nothing about what the app stores from your conversations.

Refunds and disputes
Paying with PayPal does not change an app's own refund rules, and most are strict:
- Kupid AI: all sales of digital products are final once accessed.
- Replika: web purchases, including PayPal, are final unless the law requires otherwise; store purchases are refunded only through Apple or Google.
- Kindroid: generally no refunds, and it says users who dispute charges may be banned.
- CrushOn AI: no refunds of usage fees, and a chargeback that is not for fraud can get accounts blocked.
- GoLove AI: refunds within 24 hours, for card purchases only.
Before you open a PayPal dispute, contact the app's support first. Several apps treat a dispute as grounds to close the account, which also ends access to anything you paid for. To stop future charges, cancel the subscription in the app or store, and check your PayPal settings for the approved automatic payment. No PayPal? Other ways to pay without a card
If the app you want does not take PayPal, you still have options that keep your card number off its checkout:
