Which AI girlfriend apps work in the Philippines
The apps we rank open normally in a browser from the Philippines, and Nomi AI and Replika are listed in the Philippine App Store, both rated 18+. None of the research files behind our reviews shows a Philippines-specific block or age check. Most people there use these apps on a phone, so the web apps' home-screen install matters: see our pages on the best AI girlfriend for Android and iPhone for the steps.
Mobile data is the other practical point. Text chat uses very little, but live calls and video stream continuously, so use Wi-Fi for those where you can.

Web apps bill in US dollars, so Candy AI's $3.99 a month yearly plan or TryNectar AI's $5 is converted by your bank, and many cards add a fee for foreign-currency purchases. Paying for a year up front is usually far cheaper per month than month to month on these apps.
Tax may add to the price: Republic Act 12023, approved in October 2024, applies 12% VAT to digital services (RA 12023), so foreign apps may add it at checkout.

Paying without an international credit card
The easiest local option is the App Store: in the Philippines Apple accepts GCash, ShopeePay, Smart mobile billing and most cards (Apple Support). That works for Nomi AI and Replika.
For web apps, you need a card that works for international online payments, or another route:
- Prepaid and virtual cards: Joi AI accepts gift and prepaid Visa or Mastercard cards, My Dream Companion suggests prepaid cards, and Secrets AI accepts virtual debit cards.
- Apple Pay and Google Pay: Candy AI, Secrets AI, Selira AI, Joi AI, GoLove AI and LusyChat.
- Crypto: Secrets AI (minimum $20), Candy AI, OurDream, TryNectar AI and others.
- PayPal: GoLove AI and Kupid AI.

Tagalog and Taglish
TryNectar AI is the only app we rank with a Tagalog version of its site. For chat itself, the language model follows what you write, so Taglish usually gets Taglish back. Swipey AI says outright that your companion replies in the language you write in, and OurDream says its characters switch language when asked.
Two tips: write your first few messages in the mix you want, and on apps that let you edit her description, add one line such as "She speaks Taglish, mostly English with Tagalog phrases." Voice is weaker, since most apps' voices are designed for English. Our AI girlfriend prompts guide has more character lines.
What Philippine law says
The Philippines already has a law requiring age checks for adult content online. Section 35 of Republic Act 11930, the 2022 law against online sexual abuse and exploitation of children, says "all online providers of adult content shall be required to adopt an anonymous age verification process before granting access to adult content" (RA 11930). The law left the detailed rules to the National Telecommunications Commission, and we could not confirm that those rules have been issued, so for now the apps' own 18+ gates are what you will see.
Your data is covered too. The Data Privacy Act of 2012 applies to companies outside the Philippines when their processing "relates to personal information about a Philippine citizen or a resident" (RA 10173), which includes the foreign apps on this page. Every app we rank is 18+ only. For other countries, see AI girlfriend laws by country.
